Jacob Manatowa-Bailey

Jacob Manatowa-Bailey (Ôthâkîwaki) was the founding Director of the Sauk Language Department for the Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma (2005-2016). Jacob currently works as an advisor providing planning and programmatic assistance to Indigenous language revitalization (ILR) programs. Their doctoral research focused on relationship between trauma, language, mindfulness, and healing. As an output of Jacob’s doctoral research, they created a website focused on wellbeing for ILR practitioners called Rethink Revitalization.
